Mon, 12 May 2008 21:07:45 PDT
In conclusion, this is a conversation that needs to be heard. Ironically, the loud and disruptive sounds caused by Africa's tug of war between the media and it's opponents have been drowned out by so much of the continent's positive news as of late.

A little over a week ago I was having coffee and talking technology and ministry with Cynthia Ware of The Digital Sanctuary. And she told me a story about some friends of hers and how they had received information from Twitter regarding some events that later became the news. Basically, because of the posts on Twitter, these people had firsthand accounts of news before it hit the major news stations. She talked a little then about how Twitter or even some tool like that (who knows what the fu

I am not sure if you any of you even remember me posting about this, but when Will was born he had a hole in his heart. The pulmonary veins were also tight around his heart (I think it was something like this), and he had a heart murmur. When he was a little baby, we had to bring him in to be checked by the pediatric cardiologist. At that time, we were told that everything looked fine and that he would probably outgrow it. He was suppose to have a follow up in December, and bad mommy here forgo

His reports about the incredible destruction at the earthquake's epicenter were anything but comforting. So mangled are the roads that getting there with any help is next to impossible. I've been in Chengdu, I've been in the mountainous outskirts where the quake was centered. And as the son of a geophysicist who, among other thing, specializes in earthquakes and has done work i

So the Blackberry Bold is coming out in its I must say beautifully redeisgned glory that doe share similair design elements from the iPhone, it has great new features and better yet a new OS and interface. And guess who the first “exclusive” carrier is going to be, why thats right AT&T. Problem? Yes. The Bold is a direct competitor to the iPhone and AT&T has both exclusively. PBS: Not so neuroscience-savvy
Mon, 12 May 2008 21:22:47 PDT
Salon has an interesting piece condemning a recent PBS show purportedly on Alzheimer’s treatment but really more of a sketchy informercial. The program concerns a neurologist with tenuous ties to UC Irvine who advocates SPECT (single photon emission computed tomograpy, a technique which, similar to PET, uses a radiotracer) and some unfounded preventative treatments for Alzheimer’s. The neurologist Bill Amen has appeared on many big-name media outlets including CNN, the Today Show, and Fox News
